MU team wins against Vietnam National University and International University of Science & Technology in Kuwait in the preliminary debate rounds.
MU team, participating in the 6th international universities debating championship, won against Vietnam National University team and International University of Science & Technology in Kuwait in the preliminary debate rounds.
MU team containing four undergraduate students in their second and third years at the university has played five debates, winning two of the debates.
The debating championship was organized by Qatar Debates based in Doha, however, this year’s tournament was held in Istanbul from 17 to 22nd June with the host of Ibn Khaldun University.
Any team of the debaters have taken part in 5 preliminary debate rounds which could lead to knockout stages with the top 16 teams competing for a spot in the 6th IUDC final on the 22nd of June.

The 6th championship has witnessed the participation of 92 teams from 50 countries around the globe.
This global debating event that brings international students together across the world provides students an opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas on global challenges and pressing contemporary issues. In addition, it is vital for networking, exchanging experiences and building bridges for communication.
IUDC aim
This tournament, which is organized in every 2 tears, aims to create an environment for the global Arabic-speaking debate community to help spread the culture of dialogue and empower young minds with effective communication and critical, analytical and creative thinking skills.
Mogadishu University participation
Mogadishu University participates its third time in IUDC representing Somalia education community and Horn of Africa.
Muse Ahmed Abdullahi, director of student affairs, has highlighted the importance of participation of this global event as such participation hones the talent of Somali students. He advised the students to work hard and equip themselves with knowledge and skills essential to meet future challenges.
