In the contemporary world, it is difficult to imagine our life without computers and information technology; therefore, computer science and IT specialists are required by almost every sphere of human activity, including management, economy, finance, power engineering, education, science, design and production processes, tourism, journalism, music and art. The Faculty of Computer Science and IT was opened in 2003 to address the pressing need for highly trained and competent professionals in this field.

Faculty of Computer Science & IT was the first Faculty of computer technology in the country as a result it filled a gap to produce qualified Somali computer Engineers.

The Bachelor of Computer Science and IT intended to foster students with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes for professional excellence and competences in computer science and IT theories and practice areas through quality teaching, research and innovation.

The faculty offers a wide range of courses with rich content to learn fundamentals as well as advanced knowledge of computer science and information technology to help students obtain the ability to keep up with the swift pace of technological innovations and diversification.

Faculty Programs

Computer Science & IT

Bachelors Degree of Science (B.Sc) in Computer Science shall be conferred on the students who successfully complete minimum of (167) credit hours.

Information Technology

Bachelors Degree of Science (B.Sc) in Information Technology shall be conferred onthe students who successfully complete minimum of (160) credit hours.

Geographic Information System (GIS)

Bachelors Degree of Science (B.Sc) in Geographic Information System (GIS) shall be conferred on the students who successfully complete minimum of (167) credit hours.

Enterprise Networking

Bachelors Degree of Science (B.Sc) in Institutional Network shall be conferred on the students who successfully complete minimum of (159) credit hours.
