December 23, 2023 – Mogadishu University is the only university listed among top 115 Arab Universities in the latest rankings released on Thursday by Association of Arab universities.

Out of the 115 universities ranked in the Arab region, Mogadishu University emerged in the top 108 category and number 1 in Somalia. King Saud University took the lead to become number 1 while Cairo University ranked in the second position.

This ranking has checked key performance indicators include: Teaching and learning index, scientific research index, Creativity and innovation index and international outlook.

We are delighted to see that Mogadishu University contests its counterpart universities in the region. Dr. Ibrahim Mohamed Mursal said. “Students here are taught new knowledge based on research and innovation and we have responsibility to maintain the standards set before 27 years when Mogadishu University was established in the shadow of civil war”. He added.

Mogadishu University has been ranking in number 1 in Somalia in other regional university rankings in the last years.

This ranking is a reflection of Mogadishu University’s commitment on maintaining quality education, research, innovation and community services which has made MU a strong and prestigious higher education institution in Somalia with regional impact.
