Admission Requirements

Admission Requirements

Admission requirements vary based on the application type (new or transfer), however; the admission of a new applicant to a bachelor’s Degree Program will be based on any of the following minimum requirements as required documents should be submitted in-person to the Admissions Department:

  1. A general Secondary School Certificate accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education or equivalent authority of the applicant’s country.
  2. Only Applicants whose results are available at the time of application will be considered.
  3. A copy of birth certificate or Passport.
  4. Students will be admitted if he/she passes at least 50% of the total subjects.
  5. Students will be admitted only if he/she earns 60% and more with the relevant subjects to the department.
  6. Four color photographs (6×4) cm for physical applicants.
  7. Registration fees Payment of 50 Dollars (non-refundable).
  8. All applicants should fill in the university enrollment form.

All applicants are required to bring all the required documents to the following address:

Administration Building, KM4, ground floor, from Saturday to Wednesday 8:00 – 4:00

 Thursday 8:00 – 1:00

 Note:

Certificates should be from an Institution recognized by Mogadishu University council.

Placement Test

Placement Test

All new undergraduate applicants applying for different programs of Mogadishu University will need to sit for a placement test.

Students should pass at least 50% of the total subjects and earn 60% or more with the related subjects to the department.

Repeat Policy for MU placement Test

Placement tests can only be taken one time per admission cycle and it is not allowed for repeat if the student does not score the minimum pass result.

Orientation Program

Orientation Program

The orientation program is a welcoming event which takes place before the new students commence their academic journey. A variety of events are held to welcome the new students to the University.

The orientation program is a platform that consists of a set of educational presentations and lectures designed specifically for freshers, and will provide new students with the most important information they need to know about Mogadishu University. The information will highlight the key policies and academic expectations at Mogadishu university student life, communication channels and a tour around the main campus of Mogadishu University.

The orientation program explains several policies and highlights services that are provided at the University. The presentations will cover the following areas:

  • Academic life
  • Student life
  • University bylaws
  • Campus Tour
  • Introducing administration and academic staff to the students (deans, faculty members, finance officers and other forefront staff who will interact students with their new journey).

The students will also have the opportunity to meet with MU president, vice-presidents and other top management teams.

When will Orientation Program take place?

The orientation program will take place shortly after the placement test results are announced by the admission department.

Transfer Requirements

Transfer Requirements

We are pleased to hear from you considering to transfer to Mogadishu University. As a transfer student, MU offers you exceptional opportunities, educational resources, libraries and laboratories with qualified staff dedicated to help you prepare for your professional career. All applicants who attended another university or previously enrolled at a university after graduating from a high school are allowed to transfer and apply for transfer admission to Mogadishu University if they meet the following minimum requirements. Transfer applicants can apply for the beginning of every semester before admission closes and undergraduate students are only eligible for transfer admission. Transfer Requirements to Mogadishu University
  1. A general Secondary School Certificate accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education or equivalent authority of the applicant’s country.
  2. An official, certified transcript from a university accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education or equivalent authority of the applicant’s country.
  3. Completed a minimum of 15 credit hours and one semester at an institution of higher education where English or Arabic was the medium of instruction.
  4. Submitted required documents before the admission deadline
  5. Registration Payment of 50 Dollars (non-refundable)
  6. Four color passport size photographs
  7. A copy of Birth certificate or Passport
  8. A minimum pass of all subjects is needed when submitted for transfer
  9. All credit hours he/she completed should be equivalent to MU credit hours
  10. All applicants should fill in the university enrollment form
Note:. Applicants who were subject to disciplinary action at a prior university are not qualified for a transfer admission.
