Mogadishu University has welcomed first-year students of batch 27 to its main campus with a series of Orientation Weeklong events taking place 9 Oct. to 12.
Organized by student affairs office with students union, the orientation week has provided undergraduate students with the opportunity to learn their way around campus meet new people and join student groups.
Director of student affairs says that they’re excited to welcome new students to the main campus as their O-week in Mogadishu University.
“This week is the start of some of the most memorable years of our lives and we are amazed what we learned in this short time, it is a summary of a long journey and I am very happy to be part of this experience” Omar Ali, a fresh student, majoring in economics said.
The incoming class
The O-Week kicked Monday with informative events planned for the nearly 2000 new students who will arrive on campus. It’s also filled with activities to help students learn about the university history, rules, services and opportunities. Some activities include:
- Student life
- University bylaws
- Campus tour
- Meeting with administration and academic staff (deans, faculty members, finance officers and other forefront staff)
Every year, student affairs office organizes an orientation event which is designed to balance the needs of the students to know what a successful student means at the university with events and activities that build community, create engagement and develop friendships.
