Course Description

Practical, general workplace training supported by an individualized learning plan developed by the employer, college, and student. These practice emphasizes Serology include blood grouping, infectious disease, CRP, RF, ASO, widel test, Brucellosis, pregnancy test(HGC), syphilis, VDRL, RPR, H.pylori, PSA.

Learning Objective

  • At the end of this course the student is expected to:
  • 1. Review the basic /advanced principle of laboratory techniques and the proper use of equipments with application safety measures and quality assurance
  • 2. apply methods of urine examination
  • 3. apply procedures of body fluid analysis
  • 4. practice basic skills and techniques of blood sample collection
  • 5. Know the materials necessary for serological tests
  • 6. Practice specimen collection preparation and preservation
  • 7. Practice serial dilution & determination of end point an titer.
  • 8. Enumerate the different treponematoses
  • 9. Explain the stages of syphilis
  • 10. Practice the different tests for syphilis
  • 11. Practice preparation of control sera in the laboratory
