Course Description

This section is intended to focus on common dental disorders and is expected to enable students to acquire knowledge on the prevention diagnosis and management of dental and oral problems.

Learning Objective

  • At the end of the course the students will be able to:
  • 1. Demonstrate the knowledge and skills need to develop implement and evaluate dental health programme
  • 2. describe the concept of dental care
  • 3. describe stomatitis, acute necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis (anug), dental caries and identify methods for use dental flossing
  • 4. describe gingivitis (periodontal disease, dentures, orthodontics, know dental emergencies
  • 5. Describe how primary level care prevents dental diseases
  • 6. Describe management of a patient after tooth extraction
