Course Description

This course is of clinical nursing and incorporates the theatrical knowledge and clinical applications of nursing interventions given to patients with surgical problems with emphasis on preoperative/intraoperative/ nursing management, operative permit, anesthetics techniques & anesthesia stages , postoperative nursing care, predisposing for wound infection, postoperative discomfort, treatment of hiccup, shock, assessment of respiratory function., nursing intervention of the patient for bronchoscopy.

Learning Objective

  • At the end of the course the students will be able to:
  • Plan, implement and evaluate the nursing management/interventions given to patients with following surgical procedures: preoperative/intraoperative/ nursing management, operative permit, anesthetics techniques & anesthesia stages , postoperative nursing care, predisposing for wound infection, postoperative discomfort, treatment of hiccup, shock, assessment of respiratory function., nursing intervention of the patient for bronchoscopy.
